Kia Ora Whanau,
Welcome to the beginning of yet another busy term at RIS.
Hine Kaha will be continuing to work on design projects by turning something old into something new. The girls will also be going on two trips, one to the Rotorua Museum and the other to Action World in Taupo.
Also this term there are High School orientation days and testing for class placements for 2012. I do encourage all girls to attend all the orientations, if not for enrolement possibilities, then for the experience that each High School provides during these visits.
Other programs being carried out this term include:
- Growing Great Girls - a program designed to help young ladies make the right choices, form positive relationships with others, and how to handle different and difficult situations that may arise.
- Sign Language - each girl is learning the basic Australasian Language for the Hearing Impaired.
- Production - Hine Kaha have been asked to produce and perform a small production to Jesse J's Price Tag. If time permits the girls will be able to present this to not only our own school but all our contributing schools in Rotorua.
As you can see, the girls have a busy term ahead. Please feel free to visit our class during the day and lend a hand where able to.

our class trip o the wall
When our class had first walked into the wall some of our class were horrified and some were excited .This was to help overcome fears and team build together as a group. We supported each other in climbing the wall. Some of the girls were nervous and did not trust their team. As we climbed more we became more confident. Wall climbing was a great experience for us all. We had great fun.
Thanks to Simon and his team, also thanks to the parents’ that came with us if you weren’t there we wouldn’t have gone.
